Taping

This a very popular adjunct to physiotherapy these days since the judicious use of strips of colourful tape adhered to the skin and fascia over a region can achieve a remarkable amount. It can allow a sportsperson to return to play a bit sooner with security if using non stretch tape, or a reminder not to stretch too far if non stretch type, or a some kind of proprioceptive feedback as to where his knee/elbow/ shoulder is in space thereby improving performance. It can also relieve pain by subtly repositioning areas such as the patella so it does not grind on the underlying bone as it moves.
