The Oving Medical Clinic is delighted to invite local residents to a free patient education morning at Chichester Yacht Club on Sunday 11th October 2026. Two of our clinic directors, Dr Etienne Raffner and Dr Pete Morgan, will each give a short, practical talk on a topic that affects so many people in and around Chichester — followed by an open Q&A where you can put your questions directly to the clinicians. The event is free to attend and open to all. No booking with the clinic is required to come along — simply join us on the day. What's on the programme? Skin Cancer — All You Need to Know Mr Etienne Raffner, Specialist Grade Maxillofacial & Oral Surgeon, will talk through what everyone in West Sussex should know about skin cancer. As a core member of the Kent & Sussex Dermatology (Skin Cancer) Multidisciplinary Team, Dr Raffner has over 10 years' experience in skin cancer surgery and will cover: - The most common types of skin cancer and how to recognise the early signs - What to look out for in moles and pigmented lesions - When to get a spot or lesion checked, and how skin cancer is diagnosed - How skin cancer is treated, including the role of surgical excision - Practical sun protection and skin-check guidance for all ages Hip & Knee Osteoarthritis — What Can I Do About It? Dr Pete Morgan, Musculoskeletal and Sports Physician and GP Consultant, will then talk about one of the commonest causes of joint pain in adults — osteoarthritis of the hip and knee. Dr Morgan has over 25 years' experience as a doctor and a particular interest in musculoskeletal medicine and ultrasound-guided treatments. His talk will cover: - What osteoarthritis actually is (and what it isn't) - Why an X-ray doesn't always match your symptoms - The role of exercise, weight, muscle strength and joint mechanics - When to consider physiotherapy, medication or an injection - The treatments available at The Oving Medical Clinic, including ultrasound-guided injections - When a referral to an orthopaedic surgeon is appropriate A Q&A with the clinicians After both talks, there will be an open question and answer session where you can ask Dr Raffner and Dr Morgan your questions about either topic — or anything else related to skin cancer, joint pain or musculoskeletal health. We want the morning to be genuinely useful, so please come with your questions.
