He personally assesses and performs all surgical dermatology procedures at the clinic.

Will Removal Take Place at My First Appointment?
Removal can sometimes be carried out at your first appointment where it's clinically appropriate and time allows, particularly for small, straightforward moles. For larger or deeper lesions, a separate procedure appointment is arranged so the right time can be set aside. Dr Raffner will advise at your consultation.
Treatment Options
- Shave excision — flattening a raised mole at skin level
- Surgical excision with primary closure — removing the mole and closing with stitches
- Punch biopsy — removing a small core of tissue for laboratory analysis
- Cryotherapy for suitable superficial lesions
Histology Arrangements
Excised moles are routinely sent for histopathology so any cellular changes can be confirmed. Histopathology starts from £180 for a small benign specimen, rising to £310 for complex or urgent analysis including special stains.
Recovery & Aftercare
- Keep the wound clean and dry for the first 24–48 hours
- Follow the simple wound care instructions provided
- Avoid sun exposure on the area to reduce scarring
- Stitches (if used) are removed at a follow-up appointment
- Most people return to normal activities the same day
