Mr Timothy Hardwick FRCS
Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon

I completed my medical degree at Leicester University in 2007 before undertaking my foundation training and core surgical training in London. Prior to this I had accomplished a Bachelor's degree in sports physiology and a Master's degree in human and applied physiology at King's College University, London.
Following my core surgical training at Guy's and St Thomas’s and King's College Hospital, I undertook my subspecialty training in Trauma and Orthopaedics within the Kent, Surrey and Sussex deanery, attaining my CCT in 2019. On completion of higher specialty training I went on to complete an 18-month fellowship at King's College Hospital, London, specialising in hand and wrist surgery and complex trauma.
I was appointed as a substantive hand surgeon at St Richard's Hospital in April 2021, where I undertake my NHS practice. I have an ongoing interest in research and quality improvement as well as an active role in the education and training of junior surgeons as the current Royal College Surgical tutor for the trust.
I completed a clinical research fellowship during my training based at the Department of Biomaterials, Guy's Hospital, presenting work at national and international meetings, receiving the regional Fred Heatley prize for my work. I continue to be involved in local and regional research projects and attend regular national and international meetings to ensure my practice remains up to date and evidence based.
I have a wonderful wife and two amazing children who keep me busy outside of my clinical work! I am a keen golfer and belong to a club, playing when I can. I also like to keep myself fit, training for local triathlons and running events.
